I highly recommend seeing the new horror-comedy “I Don’t Understand You,” but I’d avoid watching the trailer beforehand because it gives away too much of the plot.
Andrew Rannells and Nick Kroll are hilarious as a gay couple who take a vacation to Italy before adopting their first child. Everything is picture perfect until a series of unfortunate events sends their trip off the rails in a dark and funny way.
There really weren’t any boring parts of this movie. I was thoroughly entertained throughout and it’s only about an hour and a half, so it won’t take up your whole day.
The banter between Rannells and Kroll is the main reason to see this film. They play off each other so well when things spiral out of control.
The film does have horror aspects to it, but I wouldn’t consider it scary. So, don’t let that stop you from seeing it.
My main criticism of the film is that the escalating problems and the ending are a little unrealistic. But that’s also what makes it fun.
In the end, I gave the film 7 out of 10 stars. I think you’ll like it if you like dark comedies.
