‘Adults’ season 1 review

The new comedy “Adults” totally exceeded my expectations. I thought it was going to be another attempt at a modern-day “Friends,” but it’s more of an amalgamation of a bunch of silly shows, like “Broad City,” “Happy Endings,” and “New Girl.”

The series is about a group of twenty-somethings in New York who are living together in one of their childhood homes, where they share meals, anxieties and a lot of bad ideas.

The cast is full of relative newcomers. I didn’t recognize most of them, but they all had really good chemistry and there really wasn’t a dud in the bunch.

The standout for me was the actress who played Issa. She was really funny and was giving Ilana Glazer vibes.

The actor who played Paul Baker was also really cute and charming. He’s a sexually fluid character, which made things interesting.

The series is really funny and bingeable, so I highly suggest checking out it on Hulu or FX. I binged it all in one weekend.
