‘Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen’ series review

This new Netflix show promises that “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” and let’s just say it delivers on that promise, but it takes a few episodes to get there.

The synopsis

In this new show, a bride has a feeling that something horrifying will happen at her wedding and the closer to the altar she gets, the worse it becomes.

The gag

The highlight of the show for me was the suspenseful storyline – I mean, it’s built right into the title. I didn’t see the twists coming and enjoyed how they were revealed slowly, leaving us wondering what would happen at the couple’s wedding.

I also thought Camila Morrone was great as the lead. Before this, I had only seen her in “Daisy Jones and the Six,” but now I’m really looking forward to seeing what she does next.

The drag

My biggest complaint with the show would be that I wish it was a little shorter because it kind of drags in the middle. It’s only eight episodes, but I think it could have been done in six.

Another issue I had was that the rules of the paranormal aspects of the show weren’t very clear. I was kind of confused why some people survived until the end and others didn’t.

The verdict

All in all, though, I had a good time watching “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” and I think you will too if you like mysterious shows with supernatural and horror elements.
