Here are my top five takeaways from the new movie “Eternity,” which follows a woman played by Elizabeth Olsen who dies and has to choose whether she wants to spend the afterlife with her first husband who died young or her second husband who she built a life with.
1. I thought the concept of the movie was fabulous and I loved how it explored how we should savor our everyday lives with the ones we love, flaws and all.
2. I liked how they just jumped right into the plot without dilly dallying. There actually aren’t a lot of boring parts of this movie. It kept my attention throughout.
3. The film may be about death, but it’s actually pretty funny with great cast Miles Teller and Callum Turner played the husbands perfectly, but it was Oscar winner Devine Joy Randolph who was the highlight for me, as was the woman who played a late in life lesbian.
4. I would love to see sequels of this movie. I feel like there could be spin-offs with more relationships being tested in the afterlife.
5. My biggest critique of the film is that it meanders a little bit at the end with a few too many plot twists. It felt like it could have ended multiple times, but it kept going.
