’28 Years Later’ movie review

Written by:

“28 Years Later” is good because it tells an intimate story of a family without sacrificing the exciting action sequences we all expect from a zombie movie like this.

The film is set nearly three decades after the original “28 Days Later,” when a virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory and essentially turned people into zombies.

The movie follows a group of survivors living on a small island off the coast of England. Among them is a boy who goes to the dangerous mainland, where he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

The main reason to see this movie is the action scenes. They’re shot in a really interesting way that made it feel like you were immersed in the action. Plus, the film was actually shot primarily using an iPhone, which is impressive on its own.

I also liked the way that the film interspersed a bunch of shots that didn’t necessarily go along with the plot, but they enhanced the creepy vibe of the story.

The acting was also superb. Jodi Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were great as the parents, Ralph Fiennes delivered a creepy performance as a wild doctor, and the little boy did a good job as the heart of the film.

I will say that the movie tells a few different stories that don’t always meld that well with each other, but thankfully they’re all still compelling.

I ended up giving the movie 3.5 stars out of 5. It’s probably my favorite out of the three movies and I think it’s definitely worth a watch.
